The aftermath of a watercolor by Jacob Goble (2008).Christopher Robbins, John Baca, and Jacob Goble.
In 2006, Jacob Goble made a watercolor of people traveling across land by boat, by digging a river for that boat. In 2008, Christopher Robbins asked Jacob if he would join him in Serbia to make this story come true.
The project, called The aftermath of a watercolor by Jacob Goble, was part of the 13th Pancevo Biennial, in Serbia. More photos here.
Tremendous thanks to the US Embassy, Belgrade and the US State Department for their generous support of this project, and, of course, to everyone at Pancevo Republika for all of their help! In other words: thanks to Jelena Radic, Ana Vilenica, Marija Samardzic, Stacey Rose-Blass, Susan Delja, Ivana Tosic, Jelena Putre, Marija Bjelopretovic, Dragan Bogdanovic, and others I hope I have not left out!
